Are Starbursts Gluten-Free?

glutenfreechart8 Gluten-Free Confidence Score: 8/10

If you’re in the United States, you should consider Starburst candy (including seasonal candy) to be gluten-free. Things could change at any time so be vigilant about reading those labels. Please read the ingredient and nutrition label carefully. Need help in understanding what to look for on those labels? We have a guide - check it out!.

If you’re visiting us from Australia or New Zealand, it’s a different story. Starbursts down under are NOT gluten-free.  The Wrigley’s AU/NZ site says Starbusts are “MADE OF: GLUCOSE SYRUP (SOURCES INCLUDE WHEAT), SUGAR, WATER, THICKENER (WHEAT STARCH)”.

I only say this as a health thing for those whom it could SEVERELY affect, all Starburst Aren’t gluten free. Go to their direct website http://www.wrigley.com/aunz/brands/starburst.aspx. Unsure if ANY are.

Under the nutritional table it states if the product is GF. I’m chomping on the chews now & wanted to check as I try to keep to being GF – but others it could be fatal

No probs, just wanted to make sure people who it could hurt are okay. Not like we would have known they changed, don’t know why they would change From GF to not :S Odd.

This is the australian website. If you check the english version it says THEY ARE gluten free. Maybe it depends on your location?
